FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SO WHAT’S INVOLVED EXACTLY? AND WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?

The Mentor role is about guiding and helping young women to achieve their goals and realise their potential. You’ll help them understand the skills required for your day-to-day work, open their eyes to your industry and what the real world of work looks like, and involve them in a few hours of a day in your work life to give them access to critical real-world learning so they can make informed decisions about their future careers. There is no pre-work required. You just have to have generosity of knowledge, and a willingness to share a few hours of your work day on a nominated time/date in 2022.

I’m KINDA BUSY! WHAT IS THE TOTAL TIME COMMITMENT?

We know your time is precious. Therefore we have designed the 2022 program to be high impact and easy to commit to.
The Mentor pledge requires you to commit to a minimum of TWO HOURS where you agree to host female students in your workplace, or conduct online virtual conferencing, enabling them to gain a rare window into the real world of work.

girledworld will provide the matching service based on individual student’s and schools’ industry interest area (we connect with 1000’s of students across Australia so will find students who can most benefit from the experience).

Prior to the engagement, we will also provide you with useful tips for how to make the most of your time together! Simple as that!

Small commitment = big impact in the life (and future career pathway) of a young woman in Australia.
