CmeO enabled female students aged 15-18 to take part in open workplace education and discovery through joining leading business and entrepreneurial women for a ‘Day in the Life’ experience on Friday March 8, 2019.

Engaging young people in real-world immersive work experiences is crucial to informing their choices, opening their frame of reference and equipping them with the mindsets and skillsets they need for the future workforce.

Since 2017 girledworld has engaged with 30,000+ high school girls across the world through our events, workshops and educational campaigns.

The girledworld cMEo International Women’s Day initiative was our impact mission to give today’s girls access to real-world role models and workplace immersive experiences to support them on their journeys to their future careers. This initiative was a high-impact, life-changing opportunity for girls to help them see what they could be, and find industry and career mentors to guide them in their choice-making toward future pathways.

Can you commit to just one WORK day in 2022 TO share your skills + career story + let a TEENAGE girl ‘shadow’ you for A day?

WHY BECOME A MENTOR on INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY?

Mentoring young people can change lives and career trajectories. Becoming a girledworld CmeO mentor allows you to create impact, share your abundant knowledge and experience and cultivate your leadership skills by developing others.

The time commitment is just ONE DAY and we’ll do all the legwork to match a mentee (aged 15-18 years) to you.
(NOTE: Mentees can join you virtually or in-person for a Breakfast/Lunch/Evening event, the whole day, or specific industry functions the week of International Women’s Day 2022.)

Mentorship provides real-time, real-world learning opportunities for high school girls and enables them to connect with women across industries who can guide them, help them define their career and life goals and realise their potential. READ MORE.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SO WHAT’S INVOLVED EXACTLY? AND WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?

The CmeO role is about guiding and helping young women to achieve their goals and realise their potential. You’ll help them understand the skills required for your day to day work, open their eyes to your industry and what the real world of work looks like, and involve them in a day in your life to give them access to critical real-world learning so they can make informed decisions about their future careers. There is no pre-work required. You just have to have generosity of knowledge, and a willingness to share one work day (or an International Women’s Day event) with a 15-18-year-old girl by your side!

I’m KINDA BUSY! WHAT IS THE TOTAL TIME COMMITMENT?

We know your time is precious. Therefore we have designed the girledworld CmeO program to be high impact and easy to commit to. The CmeO pledge requires you to commit to ONE DAY in the week of International Women’s Day where you agree to host ONE secondary school girl in your workplace (virtually or in person), and let her ‘shadow’ you for the day so she can learn on the job, and gain a rare window into the real world of work.

girledworld will provide the matching service based on individual student’s industry interest area and experience (we connect with 1000’s of students across Australia) and will connect you through girledworld’s online platform.

Prior to the mentorship, we will also provide you with useful tips for how to make the most of your day together! Simple as that!

Small commitment, big impact in the life (and future career pathway) of a teenage girl!
