JOIN GIRLEDWORLD IN MARCH 2020 TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!

International Women's Day has occurred for over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

International Women's Day is activating across the world again on March 8, 2020.

This is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

IWD is not country, group or organisation specific. The day marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity, and today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

After the success of our 2019 Workplace Mentorship Campaign in partnership with Virgin Australia, which saw teenage girls shadow leading women in workplaces across the day, in 2020 we have partnered with the Victorian State Government to activate Victorian workplaces and connect 200+ teenage Mentees with outstanding industry Mentors to learn about skills, jobs and industries in the real world of work.

The 2020 girledworld Workplace Mentoring & Employability Skills Program is activating in Victorian workplaces from Tuesday 10 March - Friday 26 June, 2020. To learn more see here.

Please sign up to be a Mentor and join us to change the career trajectories and opportunities of teenage girls across Victoria.

The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2019 was #BalanceforBetter

The future is exciting. Let's build a gender-balanced world. Everyone has a part to play - all the time, everywhere. From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence. Balance drives a better working world.

Let's all help create a #BalanceforBetter.
